|Hunting has a deep history and tradition on the refuge. Visitors can participate in hunting big and small game, waterfowl and other migratory birds. Portions of the refuge are open to hunting in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Regular Disabled Deer Hunt Area & Lottery Disabled Deer & Waterfowl Hunt Area
Only hunters with disabilities may hunt in the Lottery Disabled Deer/Waterfowl Hunt Area and Regular Disabled Deer Hunt Area. Wheelchair accessible blinds are available in the Lottery Disabled Deer/Waterfowl Hunt Area and are issued with the same fees and in the same manner as the Lottery Deer Hunt Area, including regulations about signing-out, completing harvest reports, no-shows, and accompanying youth. Stands located in the Regular Disabled Deer Hunt Area are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-ambulatory hunters will be given first priority for blind selection in the Lottery Disabled Deer Hunt Area.The Lottery Disabled Deer Hunt Area is closed to hunting following the November shotgun season.
