Trail permits will go on sale beginning April 1st and trails will reopen beginning April 15th through December 15th. The Wayne is located in the hills of southeastern Ohio. The Forest is a patchwork ownership that covers almost a quarter million acres of Appalachian foothills. The Forest is divided into three administrative units (Athens, Marietta, and Ironton) on two ranger districts.
We have over 340 miles of trails for hiking, 120 miles for all-terrain vehicle and off-highway motorcycle riding, 209 miles of mountain biking, and 80 miles of horseback riding. These trails provide access to one of the best hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing areas in Ohio. Come enjoy the great outdoors on the Wayne National Forest. |
